Creating a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Learning

At Head Start Centers, we provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where children can thrive. Our goal is to help every child gain the confidence, skills, and awareness needed to succeed now and, in the future, —both in school and in life.

Whole-Child Development Approach

Our program supports each child’s growth across all developmental domains:
•    Physical
•    Social
•    Emotional
•    Cognitive
We use a blend of structured and unstructured activities that encourage both teacher-led instruction and child-initiated learning. Children enjoy opportunities for free choice, purposeful play, and real-world learning experiences like visits to the local public library for story hour.

Curriculum and Assessments

We implement the Creative Curriculum to guide learning experiences. To ensure ongoing progress and development, we use the following assessment tools:
•    Teaching Strategies Gold: Conducted three times annually (fall, winter, spring)
•    Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early Development: Administered once yearly
These assessments help us identify each child’s strengths and developmental needs, allowing teachers to tailor learning plans accordingly.
Individualized Learning and Inclusion
Our program recognizes the unique needs of every child. New enrollees are evaluated to determine their current developmental level. We emphasize mainstreaming, which helps children learn empathy and respect for individual differences through inclusive learning environments.

Dedicated Educational Support

Led by the Child Services Manager, our experienced staff work closely with families, recognizing parents as the first and most important teacher of their children. Together, we strive to ensure that every child receives the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
